Manufacturers and suppliers of high quality diamond tooling in standard and customised forms. Established in 1968.
Polycrystalline diamond (PCD) consists of a layer of diamond bonded to a carbide substrate. The diamond layer provides high hardness and abrasion resistance, whereas the substrate improves the toughness and weldability.
Polycrystalline diamond (PCD) is generally recommended for the machining of non-ferrous workpiece materials where high abrasion resistance is required.
Examples of typical workpiece materials are as follows:
Metal matrix composites, Aluminium alloys, Copper, Brass, Bronze, Magnesium alloys, Ceramics, Fibre glass, Carbon fibre, Plastic, Rubber, Pre-sintered (green) and sintered tungsten carbide.
Due to its high abrasion resistance, PCD is also ideal for use in wear part applications (both ferrous and non-ferrous contact surfaces).
Nixon Indusrial Diamonds Ltd. specialises in the manufacture of PCD tooling. Our products include PCD tipped inserts, drills, slot drills, ball end cutters and wear parts.
